Do I need to be an RSG member to ride?

Which distance should I start with?
For most new randonneurs, a BRM200KM is the natural starting point. It gives you the full brevet experience without the overnight demands of the longer distances. GETTING STARTED →
Do I need a special randonneuring bicycle?
No. Use a reliable bicycle that fits you and that you can ride comfortably for many hours. Comfort, lights, carrying capacity and reliability matter more than the label on the bike. PREPARATION →
Where do I get the route?
The official route is linked from the event page, normally through Ride with GPS. Load the current event route rather than relying on an older copy shared elsewhere.
What if I arrive late for the start?
RSG provides a 30-minute late-start grace window. You must still start from the official start point and the brevet clock remains based on the published start time. More than 30 minutes late is DNS. RULES & SAFETY →
DURING THE RIDE
Is a brevet a race?
No. There is no benefit to finishing first. The objective is to complete the route within the applicable time and control requirements. Riders choose their own pace and manage their own stops.
Can I leave the official route?
You may leave it for food, rest, repairs or another personal need, but you must return to the point where you left the route before continuing the brevet. ROUTE RULES →
What proof do I need at checkpoints?
It depends on the event. RSG may require a combination of brevet card entries, photographs and activity recording. The Ride Brief tells you exactly what evidence is required. PROOF OF PASSAGE →
What are the night-riding requirements?
Use appropriate front and rear lighting. When reflective equipment is required, the reflective vest or garment must be worn as the outermost layer so it remains visible. NIGHT RIDING →
What happens if I cannot continue?
Notify the organiser as soon as reasonably possible that you are withdrawing. Your safe onward transport is your responsibility unless the event brief specifically provides otherwise. DNF & WITHDRAWAL →
AFTER THE RIDE
Is crossing the finish line enough?
Not quite. Follow the event instructions for submitting your brevet card and required evidence. RSG must check the submission before the result can be confirmed. RESULT SUBMISSION →
What is homologation?
Homologation is the formal validation of an eligible brevet result. For ACP-sanctioned events, the completed ride is processed through the applicable ACP validation system after RSG has checked the rider's submission. WHAT IS RANDONNEURING? →
Where will my result appear?
Confirmed RSG results will appear through the Results section of the Website 2.0 system. As the new rider database is connected, your ride history will also form part of My RSG. RESULTS →
MEMBERSHIP
How much does RSG membership cost?
Annual membership is S$72 for the January–December membership year. From 1 July, the membership rate is S$40 for the remainder of that year. VIEW MEMBERSHIP →
Does membership guarantee entry to every event?
No. Membership and event registration are separate. Events may have their own registration window, capacity and eligibility requirements.
What is My RSG?
